The study aimed to evaluate the impact of abdominal drain placement (vs. omission) on perioperative outcomes of robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN), focusing on complications, time to canalization, deambulation, and pain management. A prospectively-maintained institutional database was queried to get data of patients who underwent RAPN for renal masses between January 2018 and May 2023 at our Institution. Baseline, surgical, and postoperative data were collected. Retrieved patients were stratified based upon placement of abdominal drain (Y/N). Descriptive analyses comparing the two groups were conducted as appropriate.77 After adjusting for potential confounders, a logistic regression analysis was conducted to evaluate significant predictors of any grade and "major" complications. 342 patients were included: 192 patients in the "drain group" versus 150 patients in the "no-drain" group. Renal masses were larger (p < 0.001) and at higher complexity (RENAL score, p = 0.01), in the drain group. Procedures in the drain group had statistically significantly longer operative time, ischemia time, and higher blood loss (all p-values < 0.001). The urinary collecting system was more likely involved compared to the no-drain group (p = 0.01). At multivariate analysis, abdominal drainage was not a significant predictor of any grade (OR 0.79, 95%CI 0.33-1.87) and major postoperative complications (OR 3.62, 95%CI 0.53-9.68). Patients in the drain group experienced a statistically significantly higher hemoglobin drop (p < 0.01). Moreover, they exhibited statistically significant higher paracetamol consumption (p < 0.001) and need for additional opioids (p = 0.02). In summary, the study results suggest the safety of omitting drain placement and remark on the need for personalized decision-making, which considers patient and procedural factors.

PURPOSE: Partial nephrectomy is standard-of-care treatment for small renal masses. As utilization of partial nephrectomy increases and includes larger and complex tumors, the risk of conversion to radical nephrectomy likely increases. We evaluated incidence and reason for conversion to radical nephrectomy in patients scheduled for partial nephrectomy by surgeons participating in MUSIC (the Michigan Urologic Surgery Improvement Collaborative). MATERIALS AND METHODS: All patients in whom robotic partial nephrectomy was planned were stratified by completed procedure (robotic partial nephrectomy vs radical nephrectomy). Preoperative and intraoperative records were reviewed for preoperative assessment of difficulty and reason for conversion. Patient, tumor, pathologic, and practice variables were compared between cohorts. RESULTS: Of 650 patients scheduled for robotic partial nephrectomy, conversion to radical nephrectomy occurred in 27 (4.2%) patients. No conversions to open were reported. Preoperative documentation indicated a plan for possible conversion in 18 (67%) patients including partial with possible radical (n = 8), partial vs radical (n = 6), or likely radical nephrectomy (n = 4). Intraoperative documentation indicated that only 5 (19%) conversions were secondary to bleeding, with the remaining conversions due to tumor complexity and/or oncologic concerns. Patients undergoing conversion had larger (4.7 vs 2.8 cm, P < .001) and higher-complexity tumors (64% vs 6%, P < .001) with R.E.N.A.L. (for radius, exophytic/endophytic, nearness of tumor to collecting system, anterior/posterior, location relative to polar line) nephrometry score ≥ 10. The converted cases had a higher rate of ≥ pT3 (27% vs 8.4%, P = .008). CONCLUSIONS: There was a low rate of conversion from robotic partial to radical nephrectomy in the MUSIC-KIDNEY (Kidney mass: Identifying and Defining Necessary Evaluation and therapY) collaborative, and an even lower risk of conversion due to uncontrolled bleeding. Targeted review of each conversion identified appropriate decision-making based on oncologic risk in most cases.

PURPOSE: This study aimed to develop and validate an ultrasound (US)-based nomogram for the preoperative differentiation of renal urothelial carcinoma (rUC) from central renal cell carcinoma (c-RCC). METHODS: Clinical data and US images of 655 patients with 655 histologically confirmed malignant renal tumors (521 c-RCCs and 134 rUCs) were collected and divided into training (n = 455) and validation (n = 200) cohorts according to examination dates. Conventional US and contrast-enhanced US (CEUS) tumor features were analyzed to determine those that could discriminate rUC from c-RCC. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression was applied to screen clinical and US features for the differentiation of rUC from c-RCC. Using multivariate logistic regression analysis, a diagnostic model of rUC was constructed and visualized as a nomogram. The diagnostic model's performance was assessed in the training and validation cohorts by calculating the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and calibration plot. Decision curve analysis (DCA) was used to assess the clinical usefulness of the US-based nomogram. RESULTS: Seven features of both clinical features and ultrasound imaging were selected to build the diagnostic model. The nomogram achieved favorable discrimination in the training (AUC = 0.996, 95% CI: 0.993-0.999) and validation (AUC = 0.995, 95% CI: 0.974, 1.000) cohorts, and good calibration (Brier scores: 0.019 and 0.016, respectively). DCA demonstrated the clinical usefulness of the US-based nomogram. CONCLUSION: A noninvasive clinical and US-based nomogram combining conventional US and CEUS features possesses good predictive value for differentiating rUC from c-RCC.

RESUMO

CASE PRESENTATION: An 88-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with the sudden onset of dyspnea after eating. The patient had undergone nephrectomy for a left renal tumor 24 years previously. The patient had been prescribed ferrous citrate for iron-deficiency anemia. She complained of appetite loss a few days before admission but had no abdominal pain. CT scan showed no abnormalities in the lungs but a mass in the liver.

Catecholamine surge and haemodynamic derangements are normally expected during the surgery for pheochromocytoma and benign functioning adrenal tumours. This male patient in his 50s underwent radical nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma. The patient had no comorbidities. Three hours into the surgery, during electrocauterisation of the upper pole of the kidney, the patient's blood pressure unexpectedly spiked to 180/110 mm Hg, which was immediately followed by a decrease in heart rate to 35-38 beats/min. The surgeons were instructed to briefly halt the surgical manipulation. The blood pressure returned to the pre-surge level within 30-45 s. The surgery was completed without further complications, and the patient had an uneventful recovery. The episode is suggestive of the probability that the electrocauterisation of the upper pole of the kidney led to the accidental cauterisation of the adrenal gland, resulting in a transient catecholamine surge, increase in blood pressure and reflex bradycardia suggesting norepinephrine release. Treating bradycardia with atropine in such situations can exacerbate the effects of catecholamines and lead to dangerous tachyarrhythmias. The case report highlights the importance of vigilant monitoring during electrocauterisation of the upper pole of the kidney, invasive arterial blood pressure monitoring in detecting and recording such occurrences and cautiously selecting a treatment plan.

RESUMO

Bilateral Wilms tumour (BWT) is a surgically challenging condition. Virtual reality (VR) reconstruction aids surgeons to foresee the anatomy ahead of Nephron Sparing Surgery (NSS). Three-dimensional (3D) visualisation improves the anatomical orientation of surgeons performing NSS. We herewith report a case of BWT where VR planning and 3D printing were used to aid NSS. Conventional imaging is often found to be inadequate while assessing the tumour-organ-vascular anatomy. Advances like VR and 3D printing help surgeons plan better for complex surgeries like bilateral NSS. Next-generation extended reality tools will likely aid robotic-assisted precision NSS and improve patient outcomes.

BACKGROUND: Adjuvant pembrolizumab therapy after surgery for renal-cell carcinoma was approved on the basis of a significant improvement in disease-free survival in the KEYNOTE-564 trial. Whether the results regarding overall survival from the third prespecified interim analysis of the trial would also favor pembrolizumab was uncertain. METHODS: In this phase 3, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, we randomly assigned (in a 1:1 ratio) participants with clear-cell renal-cell carcinoma who had an increased risk of recurrence after surgery to receive pembrolizumab (at a dose of 200 mg) or placebo every 3 weeks for up to 17 cycles (approximately 1 year) or until recurrence, the occurrence of unacceptable toxic effects, or withdrawal of consent. A significant improvement in disease-free survival according to investigator assessment (the primary end point) was shown previously. Overall survival was the key secondary end point. Safety was a secondary end point. RESULTS: A total of 496 participants were assigned to receive pembrolizumab and 498 to receive placebo. As of September 15, 2023, the median follow-up was 57.2 months. The disease-free survival benefit was consistent with that in previous analyses (hazard ratio for recurrence or death, 0.72; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.59 to 0.87). A significant improvement in overall survival was observed with pembrolizumab as compared with placebo (hazard ratio for death, 0.62; 95% CI, 0.44 to 0.87; P = 0.005). The estimated overall survival at 48 months was 91.2% in the pembrolizumab group, as compared with 86.0% in the placebo group; the benefit was consistent across key subgroups. Pembrolizumab was associated with a higher incidence of serious adverse events of any cause (20.7%, vs. 11.5% with placebo) and of grade 3 or 4 adverse events related to pembrolizumab or placebo (18.6% vs. 1.2%). No deaths were attributed to pembrolizumab therapy. CONCLUSIONS: Adjuvant pembrolizumab was associated with a significant and clinically meaningful improvement in overall survival, as compared with placebo, among participants with clear-cell renal-cell carcinoma at increased risk for recurrence after surgery. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of different surgical timing on the surgical treatment of renal angiomyolipoma (RAML) with rupture and hemorrhage. METHODS: The demographic data and perioperative data of 31 patients with rupture and hemorrhage of RAML admitted to our medical center from June 2013 to February 2023 were collected. The surgery within 7 days after hemorrhage was defined as a short-term surgery group, the surgery between 7 days and 6 months after hemorrhage was defined as a medium-term surgery group, and the surgery beyond 6 months after hemorrhage was defined as a long-term surgery group. The perioperative related indicators among the three groups were compared. RESULTS: This study collected 31 patients who underwent surgical treatment for RAML rupture and hemorrhage, of whom 13 were males and 18 were females, with an average age of (46.2±11.3) years. The short-term surgery group included 7 patients, the medium-term surgery group included 12 patients and the long-term surgery group included 12 patients. In terms of tumor diameter, the patients in the long-term surgery group were significantly lower than those in the recent surgery group [(6.6±2.4) cm vs. (10.0±3.0) cm, P=0.039]. In terms of operation time, the long-term surgery group was significantly shorter than the mid-term surgery group [(157.5±56.8) min vs. (254.8±80.1) min, P=0.006], and there was no significant difference between other groups. In terms of estimated blood loss during surgery, the long-term surgery group was significantly lower than the mid-term surgery group [35 (10, 100) mL vs. 650 (300, 1 200) mL, P < 0.001], and there was no significant difference between other groups. In terms of intraoperative blood transfusion, the long-term surgery group was significantly lower than the mid-term surgery group [0 (0, 0) mL vs. 200 (0, 700) mL, P=0.014], and there was no significant difference between other groups. In terms of postoperative hospitalization days, the long-term surgery group was significantly lower than the mid-term surgery group [5 (4, 7) d vs. 7 (6, 10) d, P=0.011], and there was no significant difference between other groups. CONCLUSION: We believe that for patients with RAML rupture and hemorrhage, reoperation for more than 6 months is a relatively safe time range, with minimal intraoperative bleeding. Therefore, it is more recommended to undergo surgical treatment after the hematoma is systematized through conservative treatment.

INTRODUCTION: There is limited evidence on the outcomes of robotic partial nephrectomy (RPN) and open partial nephrectomy (OPN) in obese patients (BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2). In this study, we aimed to compare perioperative and oncological outcomes of RPN and OPN. METHODS: We relied on data from patients who underwent PN from 2009 to 2017 at 16 departments of urology participating in the UroCCR network, which were collected prospectively. In an effort to adjust for potential confounders, a propensity-score matching was performed. Perioperative outcomes were compared between OPN and RPN patients. Disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared using the log-rank test. RESULTS: Overall, 1277 obese patients (932 robotic and 345 open were included. After propensity score matching, 166 OPN and 166 RPN individuals were considered for the study purposes; no statistically significant difference among baseline demographic or tumor-specific characteristics was present. A higher overall complication rate and major complications rate were recorded in the OPN group (37 vs. 25%, p = 0.01 and 21 vs. 10%, p = 0.007; respectively). The length of stay was also significantly longer in the OPN group, before and after propensity-score matching (p < 0.001). There were no significant differences in Warm ischemia time (p = 0.66), absolute change in eGFR (p = 0.45) and positive surgical margins (p = 0.12). At a median postoperative follow-up period of 24 (8-40) months, DFS and OS were similar in the two groups (all p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: In this study, RPN was associated with better perioperative outcomes (improvement of major complications rate and LOS) than OPN. The oncological outcomes were found to be similar between the two approaches.

Robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) has been shown to be a safe and effective method for treatment of small renal tumors, including clinical T1b renal cell carcinoma (RCC); however, the impact of RAPN for cT1b renal tumors on renal function is not well understood. In this retrospective study, 50 patients who underwent RAPN for cT1b renal tumors were evaluated for pre- and post-operative renal function and perioperative clinical factors. Renal function was assessed using the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) at baseline and on postoperative days (POD) 1, 7, 30, and 180.A significant renal functional decline was defined as ≥ 15% reduction in eGFR at POD180 compared with eGFR at baseline. Logistic regression analyses were used to identify risk factors for renal function decline, including age, sex, RENAL nephrometry score, operative time, and estimated blood loss. The median patient age was 62 years, and the median tumor diameter and RENAL nephrometry score were 44 mm (IQR 43-50) and 8 (IQR 7-9), respectively. Of these patients, 16 (36%) showed a significant renal functional decline at POD 180. In the multivariate analysis, the L component of the RENAL nephrometry score and an estimated blood loss of 200 mL or more were identified as significant risk factors for renal functional decline. These findings suggest that the preoperatively definable L component of the RENAL nephrometry score and intraoperative blood loss, which may be modifiable factors, play significant roles in post-RAPN renal function decline.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Immunoscore® is a prognostic parameter based on densities of lymphocyte populations in the tumor center and invasive margin. Immunoscore® is validated in colorectal cancer as a high Immunoscore® is associated with longer survival. Previous studies have suggested that Immunoscore® may also predict oncological outcomes in clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). This study aims to assess the prognostic role of immune cell score in ccRCC. MATERIAL AND METHODS: All patients with ccRCC undergoing surgery between 2007 and 2020 in Central Finland Central Hospital were retrospectively identified. CD3+ and CD8+ cell densities were calculated from tissue samples to determine the immune cell score using Immunoscore® principles. Receiver-operating characteristic analysis, Kaplan-Meier survival curve, and Cox regression were used to evaluate the association between immune cell score and survival. RESULTS: A total of 203 patients (mean age 66.5 years) were identified. The median follow-up time was 6.2 years. Based on the immune cell score, the patients were divided into three groups: low, intermediate, and high. In Cox regression analysis, adjusted with age, sex, and Charlson Comorbidity Index, no significant differences in disease-specific mortality were observed among the three groups. The hazard ratios (HRs) for disease-specific mortality were 0.93 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.48-1.79) and 1.12 (0.52-2.37) for intermediate- and high-immune cell score groups when compared to low-immune cell score group, respectively. INTERPRETATION: This study found no association between immune cell score and survival. These results indicate that immune cell score may not serve as a prognostic tool in ccRCC.

INTRODUCTION: Partial nephrectomy (PN) aims to remove renal tumors while preserving renal function without affecting oncological and perioperative surgical outcomes. Aim of this paper is to summarize the current evidence on PN and to provide evidence-based recommendations on indications, surgical technique, perioperative management and postoperative surveillance of PN for renal tumors in the Italian clinical and health care system context. EVIDENCE ACQUISITION: This review is the result of an interactive peer-reviewing process of the recent literature on PN for renal tumors carried out by an expert panel composed of members of the Italian Society of Urology (SIU) Renal Cell Carcinoma Working Group. EVIDENCE SYNTHESIS: PN for localized renal tumors is not inferior to radical nephrectomy in terms of survival outcomes while significantly better preserving renal function. Loss of renal function after PN is influenced by medical comorbidities/preoperative renal function and surgical variables such volume of parenchyma preserved and ischemia time. Urologists should select the clamping strategy during PN based on their experience and patient-specific factors. PN can be performed with any surgical approach based on surgeon's expertise and skills. Robotic PN has the potential to expand the minimally invasive indications without interfering with oncological outcomes. The use of 3D virtual models, real time ultrasound and fluorescence tools to assess the anatomy and vascularization of renal tumors during PN may allow a more accurate preoperative planning and intraoperative guidance. Proper postoperative surveillance protocols are essential to detect tumor recurrences and assess functional outcomes. CONCLUSIONS: PN is the standard of care for treatment of localized T1 renal tumors. Recent data supports PN also for selected T2-T3a tumors in experienced institutions. Careful preoperative planning, adequate surgical skills and volumes and appropriate postoperative management and surveillance are paramount to optimize PN oncological and functional outcomes.

RESUMO

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with heterotopic formation has been reported very rarely. We report this rare entity in a 33-year-old female patient who came to the out-patient department after complaining of pain in the lumbar region of the left side for 2 years. A computed tomography scan showed a heterogeneously enhancing lesion originating from the posterior cortex of the left kidney in the upper pole. It had many chunky calcification foci and was treated with left robotic partial nephrectomy. Histo-pathological examination revealed clear cell RCC with the heterotopic bone formation with a tumor size measuring 5 × 4 × 2.5 cm; the tumor was limited to the kidney, and the tumor resection margin were free of tumor, WHO/ISUP Grade 2. The pathological stage (AJCC 8th edition PTNM) was p T1b p NX p MX. The prognostic implications regarding calcification are poorly addressed in the literature. Patients suffering from osseous metaplasia are often in their early stages of the disease and have a favorable prognosis.

Background and Objectives: to investigate the impact of age on renal function deterioration after robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) focusing on a decline to moderate and severe forms of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Materials and Methods: This is a single center prospective analysis of patients who underwent RAPN. The outcomes include the development of de novo CKD-S 3a [estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) < 60 mL/min/1.73 m2)] and de novo CKD-S 3b (eGFR < 45 mL/min/1.73/m2). Multivariable analysis (MVA) via Cox regression identified predictors for CKD-S 3a/b. Kaplan -Meier Analyses (KMA) were fitted for survival assessment. Multivariable linear regression was utilized to identify the predictors of last-eGFR. Results: Overall, 258 patients were analyzed [low age (<50) n = 40 (15.5%); intermediate age (50-70) n = 164 (63.5%); high age (>70) n = 54 (20.9%)] with a median follow-up of 31 (IQR 20-42) months. MVA revealed an increasing RENAL score [Hazard Ratio (HR) 1.32, p = 0.009], age 50-70 (HR 6.21, p = 0.01), age ≥ 70 (HR 10.81, p = 0.001), increasing BMI (HR 1.11, p < 0.001) and preoperative CKD 2 (HR 2.43, p = 0.014) are independent risk factors associated with an increased risk of CKD-S 3a; conversely, post-surgical acute kidney injury was not (p = 0.83). MVA for CKD-S 3b revealed an increasing RENAL score (HR 1.51, p = 0.013) and age ≥ 70 (HR 2.73, p = 0.046) are associated with an increased risk of CKD-S 3b. Linear regression analysis revealed increasing age (Coeff. -0.76, p < 0.001), increasing tumor size (Coeff. -0.31, p = 0.03), and increasing BMI (Coeff. -0.64, p = 0.004) are associated with decreasing eGFR at last follow-up. We compare the survival distribution of our cohort stratified by age elderly patients experienced worsened CKD-S 3a/b disease-free survival (p < 0.001; p < 0.001, respectively). Conclusions: Age is independently associated with a greater risk of significant and ongoing decline in kidney function following RAPN. Recognizing the impact of aging on renal function post-surgery can guide better management practices. Further investigations are required.

BACKGROUND: The role of upfront cytoreductive nephrectomy remains debatable in the present era of tyrosine kinase inhibitors and immune checkpoint inhibitors. Here, we aimed to evaluate the outcomes of metastatic renal cell carcinoma patients treated with upfront CN and modern systemic therapies. METHODS: Using the TriNetX network database, we identified patients, in the period from 2008 to 2022, who were diagnosed with metastatic renal cell carcinoma, receiving first-line systemic therapies with tyrosine kinase inhibitors or immune checkpoint inhibitors. Their overall survivals were evaluated using the Kaplan-Meier method as well as multivariable regressions. RESULTS: We identified 11,094 patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma. Of them, 2,914 (43%) patients in the tyrosine kinase inhibitor cohort (n = 6,779), and 1,884 (43.7%) in the immune checkpoint inhibitors cohort (n = 4315) underwent upfront cytoreductive nephrectomy. Those receiving upfront cytoreductive nephrectomy showed survival advantages with either tyrosine kinase inhibitor (Hazard ratio 0.722, 95% Confidence interval 0.67-0.73, p<0.001) or immune checkpoint inhibitors (Hazard ratio 65.1, 95% Confidence interval 0.59-0.71, p<0.001). In multivariable analysis, upfront cytoreductive nephrectomy was a factor for improved OS in both cohorts: tyrosine kinase inhibitors (Hazard ratio 0.623, 95% Confidence interval 0.56-0.694, p<0.001) and immune checkpoint inhibitors cohort (Hazard ratio 0.688, 95% Confidence interval 0.607-0.779, p<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Upfront cytoreductive nephrectomy was associated with an improved overall survival for patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma receiving either first-line tyrosine kinase inhibitors or immune checkpoint inhibitors. Our results support a clinical role of upfront cytoreductive nephrectomy in the modern era.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the safety and feasibility of using a novel purpose-built single-port robotic system (the SHURUI Robotic Surgical System) with deformable surgical instruments to perform retroperitoneal single-port partial nephrectomy. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A prospective study was conducted to recruit patients with a single renal tumor no more than 4 cm. Robot-assisted single-port partial nephrectomy was performed by using the novel purpose-built single-port robotic system with deformable surgical instruments. Patients' demographics, tumor characteristics, and perioperative parameters were recorded and analyzed. RESULTS: Sixteen patients were recruited to the study. The median tumor size was 2.0 cm (IQR: 1.2-2.4 cm). The median R.E.N.A.L score was 6 (IQR: 4-4.5). In 3 cases, pure single-port surgery was carried out, and all the assistance was through the robotic port. Median docking time was 15.5 min (IQR: 14.25-22.25 min). Median operating time was 148.5 min (IQR: 178-238.5 min). Median console time was 107 min (IQR: 92.75-149.75 min). Median warm ischemic time was 26.5 min (IQR: 24.5-30 min). Median blood loss was 17.5 ml (IQR: 10-50 ml). CONCLUSIONS: Retroperitoneal partial nephrectomy can be safely performed with this novel purpose-built single-port robotic system (SHURUI) with deformable surgical instruments. Further studies are needed to fully evaluate the role of this new platform.

BACKGROUND: To investigate the role of antimicrobial prophylaxis in laparoscopic nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma. METHODS: We retrospectively enrolled 1000 patients who underwent laparoscopic nephrectomy from August 2019 to November 2021 in the Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Patients were divided into group without antimicrobial prophylaxis (n = 444) and group with antimicrobial prophylaxis (n = 556). Outcomes including 30-day postoperative infection rate, the increase rate of pre- and post-operative white blood cell counts and hospital stay were analyzed. RESULTS: The overall infection rate was 5.0% (28/556) in the group with antimicrobial prophylaxis, which was similar to 4.1% (18/444) in the group without antimicrobial prophylaxis (P = 0.461). The increase rate of pre- and post-operative white blood cell counts was significantly lower (85.5% versus 97.0%) in the group with antimicrobial prophylaxis (P = 0.004). The postoperative hospital stay was 5 (4, 6) days in both groups (P = 0.483). Logistic regression analyses identified the use of antimicrobial prophylaxis had no influence on the occurrence of infection events (odds ratio = 0.797; 95% confidence interval, 0.435-1.460; P = 0.462). Hemoglobin (odds ratio = 0.430; 95% confidence interval, 0.257-0.719; P = 0.001) and partial nephrectomy (odds ratio = 2.292; 95% confidence interval, 1.724-3.046; P < 0.001) influenced the use of antimicrobial prophylaxis independently. CONCLUSIONS: The use of antimicrobial prophylaxis had no impact on postoperative infection in patients receiving laparoscopic nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma.
